Thinking about replacing a missing tooth—or several—and wondering what the first visit actually looks like? A lot of people put off calling because they’re not sure what happens at a consult, whether it’ll hurt, or if they’ll feel pressured into something they’re not ready for.
At Dental Enhanced in Las Vegas, your implant consultation is free. You’ll talk through your goals with our experienced team, get a clear look at what’s going on in your mouth, and leave with a written plan and estimate—not a hard sell. Dr. Aaron Atwood and our team place dental implants and All-on-4 in-house at our Warm Springs office, so planning and treatment stay with the same team.
Here’s exactly what to expect.
Who a Free Implant Consultation Is For
A free implant consult is a great next step if you:
Are missing one tooth and want a fixed replacement that doesn’t rely on neighboring teeth
Are missing several teeth and want to compare individual implants, an implant bridge, or All-on-4
Have failing teeth or a loose denture and want something more stable
Had a tooth removed years ago and are finally ready to fill the gap
Want a written estimate before you decide anything
You don’t need to already know which treatment you want. That’s what the consult is for. (If clear aligners are also on your mind, we offer ClearCorrect for adults and teens with a free consultation—but today’s focus is implants.)
What to Expect, Step by Step
Every mouth is different, but most free implant consultations at Dental Enhanced follow a clear rhythm.
1. Goals talk
We start with you. What bothers you most—chewing, a visible gap, a denture that moves? How long has the tooth been missing? Any medical history, medications, or smoking we should know about? There’s no quiz and no pressure; we just want to understand what “done right” means for you.
2. Exam of your teeth and gums
We look at your teeth, gums, bite, and the areas where teeth are missing. That helps us see whether a single implant, several implants, or a full-arch option like All-on-4 is the smarter path—and whether anything else needs attention first.
3. Imaging as appropriate
Planning an implant well usually means seeing more than a routine X-ray can show. Depending on what we find, we may take imaging during your visit—often including 3D views of bone height, width, and nearby structures like nerves and sinuses. We’ll explain what we recommend and why before anything is taken. Whether a particular scan is included with the free consult can depend on what’s needed; we’ll be clear about that up front.
4. Candidacy and options
Most healthy adults can be good implant candidates. Bone volume, gum health, uncontrolled diabetes, or smoking can affect healing—so we discuss those openly. If bone has shrunk where a tooth has been missing, a graft may be part of the plan. If several teeth are failing, we may compare replacing them one by one versus supporting a full arch on fewer implants with All-on-4.
5. Written plan and estimate
You leave with a clear treatment plan, a realistic timeline, and a written estimate—the steps for your case, roughly how long each stage takes, and the investment involved. No decision is required the same day. Take the plan home and call when you’re ready.
Single Implant vs. All-on-4 (High Level)
A single dental implant replaces one missing tooth. A titanium (or sometimes zirconia) post goes in the jawbone like a new root. After healing, an abutment and custom crown attach on top. It stands on its own, so neighboring teeth usually don’t need to be reshaped the way they often do for a traditional bridge. More on our dental implants page.
All-on-4 (fixed full-arch implants) is for people missing most or all teeth in an arch—or whose remaining teeth are failing. Typically four implants support a full fixed set of teeth. In many cases, you leave placement day with a fixed temporary arch (not a removable denture), then return later for the final arch. Details on our All-on-4 page.
At your free consult, we’ll help you see which direction fits your bone, bite, and goals.
Common Worries We Hear (and Straight Answers)
During placement the area is fully numbed, and sedation is available if you’d like it. Afterward, most patients describe mild to moderate soreness and some swelling for a few days—usually managed with over-the-counter pain relief and ice. Many people are back to work within a day or two after a single implant; full-arch patients often plan a few more days.
From placement to your final tooth, healing (osseointegration) typically takes about three to six months. Extractions or grafting can add time. With All-on-4, many patients leave with fixed temporary teeth the same day, then return later for the final arch.
Usually not. Bone can shrink after a tooth has been gone a long time, which is why imaging matters. Sometimes a graft rebuilds the foundation first; sometimes grafting and placement happen together. Your consult is where we find out what’s needed for your site.
Imaging shows us. A graft—or in the upper back jaw, a sinus lift—can create the support an implant needs. Not everyone needs either one. We’ll explain the options in plain language.
For a visible front tooth, temporary options are often available while the implant heals. For All-on-4, a fixed temporary arch is commonly placed the same day. We’ll map that out in your written plan.
How Payment, the Discount Plan, and Financing Fit
The consult itself is free—so you can get a real plan and estimate before you commit. How you pay for treatment depends on your situation:
Dental insurance: Some plans cover part of implant-related care (an extraction, a crown, or a portion of the implant) up to an annual maximum. Coverage varies. We’re happy to check your benefits.
No insurance? Ask about our in-house Dental Discount Plan. It’s $350 per year for the first person ($250 for each additional family member), with no age limits and no auto-renewal. Membership includes all needed X-rays, 2 exams, and 2 healthy-mouth cleanings, plus 30% off all other treatment—which can help on implant care beyond the free consult. More in our post on how the Dental Discount Plan works.
Payment options: We also offer payment options our team can walk you through once you have a written estimate.
Your written estimate at the free consult is the number that matters for your mouth—we won’t invent fee ranges here.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the dental implant consultation really free?
Yes. Your implant consultation at Dental Enhanced is free. We review your goals, examine your mouth, discuss imaging as appropriate, and explain your options and costs so you can decide without pressure.
Do you place implants in-house, or will I be sent somewhere else?
We place dental implants and All-on-4 in-house at our Las Vegas office. Planning, placement, and your final teeth stay with the same team.
What should I bring?
A list of medications, any recent dental X-rays if you have them, and your insurance card if you have coverage. If you don’t have insurance, we can talk about the Dental Discount Plan and payment options on the spot.
Am I a candidate if I smoke or have diabetes?
Possibly—it depends on your overall health and how well those factors are managed. Smoking and uncontrolled diabetes can affect healing, so we’ll talk honestly about risks and what gives you the best shot at a lasting result.
What’s the next step after the consult?
Nothing, until you’re ready. Take your written plan home. When you want to move forward, call us and we’ll schedule the first treatment step.
